This notice explains what personal information BDL Carpets & Vinyl collects, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep it short and only collect what we need to quote for and carry out your flooring work.
Who we are
BDL Carpets & Vinyl is a carpet and vinyl supply and fit business based in Sheffield, S12 4LJ. We are responsible for your personal information. You can contact us about anything in this notice by email at [email protected] or by phone on 07413 423342.
What we collect
- When you request a quote on this website: your name, phone number, email address (if you give it), area or postcode, the type of work you need and any details you add.
- When you call, email or message us: the contact details and information you share with us.
- If you become a customer: your address, the work carried out, and payment and invoice records.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and give you a quote. This is a step you have asked us to take before entering into a contract.
- To carry out and invoice the work you book with us. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records. This is a legal obligation.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to keep in touch.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes technical information such as your IP address when you visit.
- Web3Forms, which receives quote requests sent through the form and forwards them to our email. It does not store submissions. Its servers are in the United States.
- Our email provider (Microsoft), which stores emails you send us and quote requests forwarded to us.
- Our accountant or HMRC, where needed for tax purposes.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months.
- Customer and invoice records are kept for 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
Cookies and third-party content
This site only uses cookies to show our latest Facebook posts. Facebook (Meta) sets these cookies, and only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Meta's use of that information is covered by Meta's privacy policy. We store your cookie choice in your own browser so we don't ask again. You can change it at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page.
Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google to download them. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to have it transferred. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
